It's that simple

We have had a lot of success the last couple of weeks with the various events at EHOVE. Career and Community Days was a huge success, due to our students participating in various activities that put the focus on their future (College Visits, Job Shadow, Military Information Session, Community Service, etc.) I am very proud of how our students took charge and followed through with these activities that were offered them.

Sophomore Orientation was also a success, due to the sophomores from our partner schools visiting various programs that were engaging and fun. Our area sophomores should be proud of how they were attentive and polite. They too showed interest in their future by participating and asking good questions. Now is the time to take a serious look at the future after high school.

Finally, our Open House drew almost 500 people who showed interest in attending EHOVE and our programs. It was exciting to meet potential future EHOVE students and their parents who are doing some serious research into the best options for their future.

What's coming up?

It will not be long when our students will have the opportunity to look more closely at the career, college, or military track they plan to take.  Those opportunities will come in the form of scheduled college visits, job shadowing, working at a current place of employment, or community service and will be available on our Career and Community Days November 29, November 30, and December 1.  We want everyone to get the most out of these days because these are experiences that help lead to your successful future.  Keep a look out for the information of these days and how to sign up for these opportunities. If you have not checked out what the ACT test is or how to sign up for the test needed for college entrance and scholarships, see your counselor as soon as possible so we can make sure you are on a successful track.

There's also plenty of good information for the college, career or military track on our website starting at this link:  http://www.ehove.net/high-school/student-services/main.html

We have so many great students at EHOVE!  Here are a few of them with me last Friday.

Here we go again!!!

It is truly exciting to have the EHOVE family back together again.  We have accepted the new family members and are looking for great leadership among the returning family members.

As I emphasized in my opening speeches, stay focused on grades, but also have fun.  The efforts students put forth now will open up so many more opportunities later.  Where will you be in 5 years?  Start planning now, make good decisions in and out of school, ask for help when you need it, and see your counselor to make sure you are on track.

I look forward to seeing each of our family members on “the stage.”

Nice!!!

Oh, the pride I have for our students who recently competed in the SkillsUSA regional competition in Tiffin.  They represented EHOVE so well.

I had a great time cheering during the awards ceremony.  Congratulations to those who move onto the state competition!!  For those who were not as lucky, I am just as proud of you for representing EHOVE well!!  Let’s get ready for state, nationals, and for next year when we double our winners to state and nationals.

95% Club - What do YOU think?

In an effort to improve the 95% Club activity every quarter, I want to know what suggestions students have to make that activity even more enjoyable for those who earn 95% attendance.  What do you like or dislike about that activity time?

They caught me sweeping up the popcorn after the students left.

EHOVE's got talent!

OK, who has talent?  We will have our annual Talent Show on February 17 in the Commons.  In the past, I have been surprised at the hidden talents of our students.  It is fun to see another side of students that we normally would not see at school.  I encourage our students to try out.  Tryouts will be announced later.  Stay tuned!
