Oh, the pride I have for our students who recently competed in the SkillsUSA regional competition in Tiffin. They represented EHOVE so well.
I had a great time cheering during the awards ceremony. Congratulations to those who move onto the state competition!! For those who were not as lucky, I am just as proud of you for representing EHOVE well!! Let’s get ready for state, nationals, and for next year when we double our winners to state and nationals.

95% Club - What do YOU think?
In an effort to improve the 95% Club activity every quarter, I want to know what suggestions students have to make that activity even more enjoyable for those who earn 95% attendance. What do you like or dislike about that activity time?
They caught me sweeping up the popcorn after the students left.

EHOVE's got talent!
OK, who has talent? We will have our annual Talent Show on February 17 in the Commons. In the past, I have been surprised at the hidden talents of our students. It is fun to see another side of students that we normally would not see at school. I encourage our students to try out. Tryouts will be announced later. Stay tuned!

I am impressed by our students
Those who have seen the participation in our student organizations last year compared to this year have to agree that our students have really shown their pride in the activities our student organizations have to offer. The SkillsUSA local competition that took place this week was very impressive. I am so proud to see our students step up to the plate and participate in the various competitions. However, it goes beyond just participation. I am proud at how our students have excelled with their efforts in wanting to learn more and become better. They say winning is not everything. You can’t lose if you put full effort into something. You will always come out a winner.

It pays to come to school
We had over 260 students participate in the 95% Club reward activities. Students who achieved 95% attendance during the first quarter were treated to an afternoon of volleyball, basketball, various board games, and snacks.

Our students make a difference!
I am so proud of our students who have participated in community service projects and activities this year. Our students and staff have donated almost $1,000 to March of Dimes, collected 4,000 canned food items for the needy, and conducted a bloodmobile that collected 160 pints of blood for the America Red Cross. There are so many more community service projects to mention. However, our students and staff should feel real good about their accomplishments of helping our 800 square mile community. Congratulations!!

They're coming and going
What an exciting month of hosting Sophomore Visitations on November 30th through December 2nd, plus an Open House for the sophomores and parents of our Partner Schools on December 2nd. We opened our labs and classrooms for all to visit and to get a taste of how EHOVE can be a part of their future. We would like to thank the guidance counselors and support staff from our partner schools for all their assistance and cooperation during this important activity.
During this time, current EHOVE students took part in several career exploration activities. During the 3 days, students attended workshops on how to get a job, finances, and health and wellness. Students could have also job shadowed, worked for their current employer, participated in a community service project with a non-profit organization, and/or made college visits.
